Abstract
Irrigation is not among the most expensive processes in the glasshouse production.
Nevertheless the irrigation must be taken under mechanization and automation to get the irrigation accomplished at the right time and with enough precision.

The utilization of the today available irrigation systems is very often considerably under the optimum.
Furthermore the used irrigation technic is not as appropriate for glasshouse conditions as possible and desirable.

The possibilities for a right irrigation by a better projecting of the knowned systems and by development of new systems will be discussed together with the water-theoretical and water-technical basis for controlling the use of the irrigation equipment.
