Abstract
The sudanophilic lipids accumulate in the glandular hairs only in Lavandula and Rosmarinus.
This latter plant has Sudan positive cuticle as well.
The common character of both the five species (Rosmarinus, Lavandula, Mentha, Salvia, Ocimum) is the accumulation of sudanophilic droplets in the mesophyll at a definite level of the plant development.
