Abstract
Soil samples from 121 orchards in 9 regions were examined for the occurrence of apple replant disease (ARD) using standard biotest.
Samples were not-treated or treated in one of the following ways: steaming, formalin and air drying.
Significant growth improvement of Antonovka seedlings by treating soil was observed in 51.2% of investigated orchards; in 44.6% of them by steaming, in 29.8% by formalin and in 25.8% by air drying.
ARD was more prevalent in sandy than in heavy soils.
