Abstract
The production and marketing orientated goals of the Migros-Sano program are: “Environment-friendly production of agricultural products by minimal and correct use of pesticides and fertilizers”, “Increased average product quality” and “An efficient control and technical advisory service”.

Statistical standards were developed, based on long-term soil and crop (juice) analysis, field observations, conservation tests and sensoric tests.

The technical M-Sano monitoring program is based on the analysis of several parameters in order to define relationships between soil fertility and internal quality.

Norms are fixed for each parameter by a statistical method which excludes 30 % of the non-desired values.
The program provides information on the soil type, cultivation or fertilization methods which offer the best conditions for high-quality crops.
