Abstract
The extraction of valepotriates and valerenic acid derivatives from Valeriana officinalis L. roots with supercritical carbon dioxide is described.
A high performance liquid chromatographic analysis has been developed for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of valepotriates and their decomposition products occurring in Valerian extracts.
Analysis of the extracts for valepotriates and valerenic acid derivatives was also investigated using hyphenated chromatographic/mass spectrometric techniques.
