ECONOMICAL ASPECTS OF THE BELGIAN AZALEA SECTOR FOR THE PERIOD 1980–1990

The production of Belgian azaleas is famed throughout the world and has its historical origins in the Ghent area dating back to well before this century.
It was not only in the past that the production of the Ghent azaleas set a standard for the rest of the world to follow.
The 1980’s too have shown the ability of the azalea producers to defend and intensify their position as world market leaders.
