Abstract
Application of a controlled atmosphere technique using sealed polyethylene bags for the storage of carrots proved to be very successful.
The composition of the atmosphere inside the bags was found to be 17 % O2, 2.5 to 3 % CO2. Observation and analysis of the stored produces throughout storage time showed that the appearance and the principal soluble contents were practically unchanged up to 15 months.
