Abstract
Pre-harvest spray apllications of ancymidol reduced last internode elongation, retarded stem bending and colour changes in the flower of cut tulips during vase life.
Concentrations of 50 ppm 20 200 ppm were similar in their activity and retardant effectiveness was greater at treatment times closer to harvest.
Ancymidol sprays had little effect on vase water uptake and did not alter the life of the flower.
