Abstract
A new device for strain measure at elasticity deformation was designed.
Five apples varieties: Champion, Gloster, Idared, Jonagold and Red Boskoop held in cold storage at temperature 0÷2°C, 6÷8°C and 14÷16°C were subjected to mechanical tests.
A puncture test of apple fruit was applied using the Instron machine.
A puncture test of apple (with skin) and apple flesh (no skin) was performed with the fruit strain meter as well.
It appeared that the fruit strain meter should be useful for a system of fruit quality evaluation as a non-destructive method.
