Abstract
Indexing peach varieties on the peach seedling GF 305 in the orchard has frequently detected a virus disease that, on this indicator, causes a delay in bud-break and in the ripening of the fruit, as well as a deformation of the stones.
This disease resembles the one described in the USA, named “peach wart virus”. It might also be responsible for the necrosis and cankers on wood.
