Abstract
The trial was made in a multitunnel greenhouse planted with pepper (Capsicum annuum, var.
Lamuyo "Drago") using, as it is usual in Almería, an organic layer under the sand, in this case with four treatments (dry extract of olive mill waste water, manure, olive mill waste+peat, without organic layer). We have got the following results: a) the solution obtained with the suction cup was very different from the solution used as irrigation water; b) we can deduce the matrix suction in the soil if we know the volume of water collected by the suction cup; c) there was a good correlation of the evolution in consecutive days of the nutritional parameters of samples obtained by suction cups: NO3 (R2 = 0.9584); K+ (R2=0,9737); Ca++ (R2=0,9428); Mg++ (R2= 0, 9165); Na+ (R2=0,8918); Cl– (R2=0,9219); SO4= (R2= 0,8317). There wasn’t acceptable prediction for the phosphates; d) All ions show a similar tendency to the tensiometric potential.
