Abstract
Calcium is a divalent cation which seems to play an important role in quality of floricultural crops.
This paper provides an overview of Ca involvement in some areas of floriculture, such as bract necrosis in poinsettia, uptake and distribution in roses, susceptibility of roses to Botrytis, discolouring or browning of petals, stiffness of the stalk of carnation and post harvest longevity.
