Abstract
The nutrient elements nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S) are essential to many plant metabolic processes.
The relationship of sulfur to nitrogen as well as recommendations for sulfur fertilizer applications and leaf elemental concentrations have not been worked out for many floricultural plants.
This article will present a capsule view of research progress at the University of Nebraska aimed at understanding the nitrogen sulfur interaction, minimizing nitrogen applications by adding sulfur and gauging the impacts of N and S on plant growth and elemental concentration under controlled conditions.
