HELICONIAS FOR THE ORNAMENTAL INDUSTRY

Heliconias are a characteristic symbol of the Neotropical forests.
Their attractive inflorescences were neglected by the general public until recently when both, the cut flower industry and the landscape pot plant industry turned their attention to this group of plants.

A visual survey of new species with ornamental potential as well as little known ones, comprising approximately 120 taxa is made in this presentation.
