Abstract
Soluble carbohydrate change in shoot tip of June-bearing strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duch. cv.
Toyonoka) was measured during flower-bud differentiation.
Main soluble carbohydrate detected in shoot tip were sucrose, glucose, fructose and inositol.
With the comparison to carbohydrate contents in the plants inhibited to flower, it seemed that carbohydrate level in shoot tip during flower differentiation did not reflect flowering directly.
