Abstract
The long-term goals of post-harvest research for Vaccinium are to improve product availability, to maintain product quality, and to improve economics for producers.
Progress is being made on many fronts on factors which will improve postharvest quality.
This review will examine: 1) cultural practices related to optimizing fruit quality, 2) handling procedures which benefit product quality, 3) storage methodologies (and their modifications), 4) cultivar differences, and 5) chemical treatments and upcoming technologies which may have impacts on storage.
