Abstract
Four types of mechanical harvester for raspberries have been tested in Britain.
One of the machines was designed in the U.S.A., another in New Zealand, the third in England and the fourth in Scotland.
All operate on the shake and catch principle, but they differ from each other in the nature of the shake imparted to the crop.

An outline is given of the history of the machines, followed by a brief description of them, and some observations on their performance.
