Abstract
Existing germplasm in red raspberry (Rubus ideaus L.) clones of the Oregon-USDA breeding program carries characters for a short, sturdy, branching, fall-cropping type.
Two complementary genes are suggested for the control of branching.
Certain parents producing early season fall-crop flowering do not always have sturdy branching types in their progeny.
Sturdy branching types that are fall-cropping and early in season have been selected for future breeding.
