INTERNATIONAL POSITION OF THE DUTCH GREENHOUSE VEGETABLES SECTOR

In the presentation a short overview will be presented of the changes over the last ten years in the Dutch greenhouse vegetables sector.
The production chain perspective will be leading.
Besides the added value created in the chain an overview is presented of the typical Dutch characteristics that resulted in the present strong Dutch position.
Following the characteristics, the weaknesses and threats of the Dutch sector will at the same time give an inside into the opportunities for international competition. However it will be the international market demand which will dictate the direction to go for the growers of vegetables.
The presentation will show an overview for the next five years to come and concludes with some major differences between the Dutch and Spanish greenhouse sector.
