TEMPORARY COVERING OF DRILLED LINES OF VEGETABLE CROPS WITH TRANSPARENT POLYTHENE FILM

This paper reports developments at the Institute of Agricultural Engineering in developing new mulch laying techniques.
The fully mechanised mulch system uses narrow bands of polythene to cover individual rows.
A tractor-mounted hydraulically driven implement has been developed by the Institute to remove the plastic strips from the crop.
