Abstract
Data are presented which suggest that virus-free M.9 from two sources have given rise to genetically different variants with different shoot productivity on stoolbeds.
M. 26 appears to contain variants with different levels of spininess on vigorous annual shoots used for hardwood cuttings.
A procedure for screening plants for potential variation in rooting from cuttings is described.
