Abstract
This study was performed during 2005 at the University of Tehran.
Some fig genotypes were selected from the Istahban Region in Iran.
Morphological and pomological characteristics of genotypes were evaluated according to the descriptor list prepared by the International Plant Genetic Resource Institute (IPGRI). The morphological traits that were measured included: tree habit, strength, branching, lateral shoot development, apical bud color, annual shoot length, thickness, color, and tendency of branching, leaf shape, number of leaf per shoot, leaf length, leaf lobe, leaf stalk length.
For the pomological characteristics: fruit weight, width and length, fruit skin color, shape, neck, symmetry, shape of peduncle, length of peduncle, TSS, pH and total acidity were determined.
