Abstract
In this study, Spathoglottis plicata var. alba, S. kimballiana and S. plicata were selfed and crossed.
Suitable time for harvesting the fruits was about 25-30 days after pollination.
Color, shape and size of fruits were recorded.
Seeds were germinated on modified Vacin and Went (1949) agar medium.
Self and cross-pollination gave variation in germination of seed.
Twenty-five-day-old fruit was the most suitable for germination.
Self pollination of S. plicata var. alba gave the highest germination of 100%. Chromosome numbers of S. plicata var. alba, S. kimballiana and S. plicata were 40, 38 and 40, respectively.
