Abstract
The Shuttleworth and Wallace (SW) model was evaluated to estimate latent heat flux (LE) from a drip-irrigated Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard, located in the Pencahue Valley, Region del Maule, Chile (35°22′ S, 71°47′ W, 150 m above sea level). The performance of the SW model was evaluated using the eddy-covariance method (LEed) on a 30 minute time interval.
Sub-models to estimate net radiation (Rn) and soil heat flux (G) were used in the SW model.
A good agreement between observed and estimated values of Rn were found with an overall standard error of estimate (SEE) of 40 W m-2 and the absolute relative error (ARE) of 3.1%. Results indicate that the SW model was able to predict LE with SEE and ARE values of 32 W m-2 and 8.8%, respectively.
