Abstract
This paper presents examples of how far the organic fruit production industry has progressed in a relatively short time.
It discusses: 1) the organic market, 2) crop load management, 3) fruit quality and the ability to store organic year around, and 4) the cross-discipline integration of crop load management and weed control systems.
Although the organic fruit industry has established the ideas and the needs, there is still a need to connect the lines between all of the aspects of organic fruit production, using a cross discipline integrated systems approach.
This is the most important challenge to the research community supporting organic producers.
