Abstract
The most significant merit traditional landscape garden owns is that it perfectly represents a harmonious relation between human and nature.
As art forms created by literati and scholar-bureaucrat, landscape garden and classical drama have countless ties to each other from the day they were born.
In Ming and Qing dynasties, the two art forms welcomed their prosperity, and their relation became more complex.
One of the most prominent phenomena was that lots of literati participated in building landscape garden, and they also preferred to appreciate classical drama in such gardens.
That promoted the intensive melting of the two art forms.
Based on the research upon the historical fact and cause of it, the present article mainly probes into the abstract essence of traditional landscape garden, describes its inheriting condition, and tries to propose some idea upon its future development.
It suggests that we should understand the evolvement and culture of landscape garden, and classical drama as an important part of garden culture.
The ancient aesthetic taste melting music with picture could aspire much upon design of contemporary landscape garden.
