Abstract
The Korean peninsula lies between 35°N to 43°N latitude and 124°E to 132°E longitude.
Climatic conditions of the country are under the influence of the continental climate.
Typical characters of the weather in the city of Seoul are as follows:

  1. Spring is relatively short and dry especially in April and May, during which period drought may cause damage to crops.

  2. The comparatively long and hot summer has about two thirds of the 1 200 to 1 300 mm of annual precipitation.

  3. Fall is relatively short but has generally fine weather conitions except for slightly dry conditions.

  4. Comparatively long and severely cold weather is experienced during the months of December, January, February and March when snow falls several times.
