Abstract
Originally we had been asked to cover in this lecture the problems of growing fruits under marginal conditions in subtropical regions.
But it proved impossible to do justice to such a wide-ranging theme within the allotted time.
We have, therefore, decided to report only on the main problems involved with growing three important crops: avocado, mango and banana and the research carried out in Israel to solve these problems.
