Abstract
Corm rot is a major constraint in the successful cultivation of saffron in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The disease was found to be caused by a complex group of microorganisms.
The results showed significantly less disease incidence and more germination and yield on integrated disease management (IDM) adopted areas as compared to farmers’ practices (FP) plots, during the three consecutive years of validation.
Average mean percent disease incidence and germination of three years were 28.88 and 81.16 in IDM and 71.11 and 18.83 in FP plots, respectively.
Fields covered under IDM practice showed significantly higher mean yield (0.396 t ha-1) comparing to farmerRSQUOs practiced plots (0.148 t ha-1).
