Abstract
Cynara genetic diversity has been assessed in different artichoke and/or cardoon collections by means of several molecular markers.
The principal results published are here reviewed to have a global picture of the world distribution of Cynara germplasm.
Moreover, as a consequence of that are also reported the principles to manage the Cynara germplasm collections.
