Abstract
Tropical pincushion proteas were created using Leucospermum species in the taxonomic section Cardinistylus to confer warm temperature tolerance to their hybrid progeny.
Eighteen hybrids performed to commercial cut flower standards at elevations as low as 15 m in Hawaii.
These hybrids were registered with the International Cultivar Registration Authority for Proteaceae and distributed to commercial producers in Hawaii.
