Abstract
Sweet pepper seed lots obtained from different nutrient regimes showed no differences in germination under the laboratory germination test.
An attempt was made to determine a treatment which would provide medium deterioration in germination so as to use it before testing the vigour of the seed lots.
Testing the seeds after being subjected to two seed moisture levels (22% and 24%) and 45°C over a period ranging from 1 to 7 days showed that subjecting the seed to 24% moisture content at 45°C for 5 days would provide medium deterioration.
When this was used as a treatment before testing, significant differences were observed in the germination of the seed lots.
