Abstract
During the period from fruit set to harvest all the quality attributes of the fruit are determined.
These include: eating quality, size, shape, colour, blemish and storage/transport ability.
Many horticultural techniques are available to manipulate quality during this period of fruit growth.
Not all are effective or give consistent results.
Research should continue to focus on developing technology to allow high proportions of crops to attain desired quality standards.
