Abstract
To know the required area of Cyclamen, research at 10 holdings has been done in the season 1969/1970 (1971), comprising 197 lots of plants, specified in seedlings (16), pricked plants (101), pot balls (47), flowering plants (28) and seed plants (5). The required area was expressed in day square metres (d.s.m.).

The average net required area was for seedlings 0.06 d.s.m., for pricked plants 0.20, for pot balls 1.03, for small flowering plants 11.35, for large flowering plants 16.23, for small seed plants 29.35 and large seed plants 35.29 d.s.m.
The variation within the different groups appears to be very large.
Causes for these large differences are among others time of sowing, rate of waste, length of culture.
