Abstract
The effect of different light qualities (white, blue, green, red, white+UV and dark) in relation to the presence of 2iP in the medium on in vitro growth of Dieffenbachia cv. Compacta microcuttings was investigated.
The highest root numbers were obtained under red light and green light conditions only on the medium without 2iP. The longest roots were noted for white+UV light on the medium supplemented with 2iP. The highest average fresh weight of roots was observed in the presence of 2iP in the medium and under green and white+UV lights.
The highest number of shoots was obtained in the presence of 2iP especially under white light.
The shoots were the longest in the dark on the medium without 2iP. The greatest shoot average fresh weight was noted for the 2iP-free medium and red light treatment.
