Abstract
An automated system is described for measuring light compensation points (LCP) of plants or plant parts as an alternative for laborious determination procedures whose efficiency depends to a great extent on personal judgement of the research worker.
The system consists of an air-tight transparent container in which the plant or plant part is to be placed and an optional light source which is varied in height interactively with the CO2 signal through a personal computer in combination with an interface.
PID (proportional-integral-derivative) controller action ensures reaching the LCP and the CO2 setpoint without overshoot.
