Abstract
Recently the dwarf apple farming areas have shown an increasing trend in Korea.
The purpose of this study is to provide the data on the farm management extension for dwarf apple farm.
Data were collected from 68 apple farms.
The study method used input-output analysis, investment planning, and linear programming.
The establishing types of a dwarf apple farm were classified into high intensity planting (HIP), semi high intensity planting (SHIP), and super high intensity planting (SPHIP).

The study results showed that the yearly rearing cost of SPHIP was 2,123,000 won per hectare.
It was higher than that of SHIP by 23 percent and lower than HIP by 14 percent.
The repayment period for the cost of new establishment, farm machinery and facilities was 7th year after replanting for SPHIP. Estimated optimal farm size of SHIP, based on family labor, was 3.0 hectare, which was 31 percent for SHIP, and 59 percent for HIP. The maximum target yield per hectare were 30,987 kilograms for SHIP, 33,965 kilograms for HIP, and 35,135 kilograms for SPHIP. The farm size was 2.3 hectare for SHIP, 1.89 hectare for HIP, and 3.01 hectare for SPHIP. It was required for them to reduce the ratio of late maturing varieties and to increase the ratio of early, and medium maturing varieties.
