Abstract
Electronics is now a fundamental part of virtually all instrumentation, providing capabilities unheard of only a few years ago.
Increasingly rapid developments in electronics, particularly micro-controller technology, makes the field difficult to keep up to date.
This paper aims to give an insight into the current and future potential of microelectronics and sensor technology by examining the increasing role of embedded computing.
