Abstract
Agua Nueva II, a Golden Delicious apple mutant that requires only 500 chilling hours was studied.
The flower initiation and subsequent differentiation of floral parts in this mutant took place several weeks earlier than Golden Delicious.
This difference was also reflected at the time of flower bud break.
The cytokinins levels were higher than gibberellins and auxins in buds at the time of flower initiation.
The results are discussed in relation to the early flowering of the mutant Agua Nueva II.
