Abstract
Apple growing in Coahuila, Mexico, located in the northeastern of Mexico, started during the Spanish colony in 1579. In this paper location, climate, and the main limiting factors for apple production are described.
Rootstocks, introduced cultivars and local selections are briefly discussed.
Old and modern pomological practices associated with orchard management are also presented.
Finally, a short discussion on marketing strategies to face foreign competition from is included.
