Abstract
The effects of GA3, hydrogen cyanamid (H2CN2, Dormex) and decapitation on apple twigs bud break at different concentrations and combinations were studied.
Bud break, full bloom, fruit set and harvest time occurred earlier as affected by dormex treatments while GA3 delayed it with respect to untreated control.
GA3 was the most effective treatment for increasing of vegetative bud break, while dormex increased flower bud break in Anna but not in Dorsett Golden. Decapitation had an additive effect on vegetative bud break in both cultivars, but had no effect on flower bud break nor fruit set.
All treatments failed to induce fruit set of Anna while GA3 increased fruit set in Dorsett Golden.
