Abstract
Treatments of nitrogen at various levels significantly improved the vegetative growth, fruit set and fruit retention per panicle but decreased the duration of flowering in mango.
Fruit weight increased upto 4 per cent urea spray but chemical composition of fruit was not affected except ascorbic acid content which reduced significantly.
Cultivars showed considerable variation in their growth, flowering, fruiting and fruit quality characters.
Vegetative growth, fruit set per panicle, fruit weight, acidity, ascorbic acid content was maximum in Langra.

Significantly positive correlations were recorded between leaf nitrogen content and fruit weight and between various physical characters of fruit where as sex-ratio and fruit set exhibited negative correlation.
Response of nitrogen application in relation to fruit weight was linear in case of Langra and quadratic in Dashehari and Totapari.
