Abstract
The usefulness of thin-layer chromatography (TLC) for genetical research and breeding work with ornamentals is indicated.
Because of low reproducibility of Rf values in TLC, the cochromatography with known pigments is suggested.
Preliminary list of plants which can be used as source of standard pigments is given.
