Abstract
Levels of endogenous hormones and endogenous polyamine during sexual differentiation of lychee flower were studied.
Relatively high levels of ABA would be beneficial to female differentiation, while low levels of IAA would be feasible for female flower development.
The contents of GA1+3 exhibited a decrease pattern in parallel to the development of male organs.
The low ratio of (IAA+ZR+GA1+3)/ABA would benefit female differentiation.
Polyamines (Pas = Put + Spd + Spm) were always abundant and the Put were always the major polyamine.
In male flowers, the ratio of (Spd+Spm)/Put increased dramatically before sexual differentiation, then declined; in female flower, it inclined to go down.
Above all, high content of Put was induced to the female differentiation.
