Abstract
The eco-climax equilibrium at which total biomass is remaining constant can be approximated through agro-climax management in orchards.
In the latter situation, trees are pruned and weeds removed by a combination of herbicidal treatment (or sometimes manual weeding) and mechanical weeding.
The resulting biomass and diameter at breast height (DBH) are short of being constant as well.
In both cases, biomass increase equals total litter fall, encompassing not only decaying leaves and twigs but also fruit production and weeds.
Examples are given for tropical orchard management systems like cashew nut and cocoa.
