Abstract
Rapid production methods are described for the raising of Acer palmatum from home saved seed.
By this means seedling rootstocks can be available for grafting within one year from the sowing date.
Home saved seed of Hamamelismollis germinates after stratification for two winters.
The seedlings can be grown rapidly for topworking as one year old plants.
Techniques are described for the raising of Sorbus spp. from seed to produce whips 1.5m. or more in one growing season.
