Abstract
Possibilities are analysed and described for continuous monitoring and calculation of leaf temperature, transpiration rate and leaf water potential and its components.
The importance is emphasized of turgor water potential, its role and the way to control this factor in the future with models containing the behaviour of osmotic potential and its adjustment to high and low evaporative demands.
Gaps in available numerical information, on which research should be concentrated, are indicated.
