Abstract
In the Netherlands growing crops in rockwool steadily increased in recent years.
At the Research Station at Naaldwijk nutrient solutions have been developed for this purpose.
In an experiment different ratios between potassium, calcium and magnesium were compared with eggplants and cucumbers as test crops.
The cucumbers were grown in spring and the eggplants in autumn.
This year both crops will be tested again.
However the eggplants will be grown in spring now and the cucumbers in autumn.

Last year cucumbers showed an effect on the quantity of calcium in the nutrient solution.
The eggplant crop especially reacts upon magnesium application.
The effect of magnesium upon the development of the spring crop eggplant present in the experiment at the moment is less than the effect of this element last year in autumn.
