Abstract
Breeding programmes are taking advantage of modern technologies, underpinning the development of new more resilient and high quality Rubus and Ribes cultivars.
Accessibility to genomic and high throughput phenotypic data has potential and has already been shown to increase efficiency in cultivar development.
Although complex, integration of these tools and associated knowledge is paramount and offers an important opportunity for the improvement of breeding in the future.
