Abstract
Site-specific crop management involves use of technological resources to understand soil/crop variability and effectively apply inputs throughout the production season.
This manuscript briefly summarizes the pertinent sensing and data analytics technologies landscape, which is evolving rapidly and is an enabler of precision horticulture concepts.
The manuscript discusses recent advances in variable rate crop input management technologies along with our on-going work on novel solid set chemical application technologies.
Outlined are also the pertinent technology adoption challenges and path forward to transition from precision to decision horticulture.
